Stoker has asked us to feature some of her fine feathered friends from the back yard until her new Webcam is ready...

Stoker and Snow

It's snowing outside and Stoker is seeing snow for the first time. She's also bird watching.

Here is our first DVR capture of Stoker and Fritz - it's a short movie. Click here.

Stoker's Friends

June 17 - Rushkin and Sasha of Texas join other Stoker Friends here in the PyramidCam PhotoBlog.

I was informed that the 4 1/2 minute Archive is not functioning - I will fix that and also work on some kind of hourly archive like we have for PyramidCam in Daily Images. I need an algorithm that will determine when Stoker is not on her chair and reject those 'empty chair' images. LOL.

May 18th - Stoker's back! It's too warm to stay in her house, so she has chosen the wicker chair with the blue rag rug cover for her main place to hang out. She thanks her many well wishers for their concern about her temporary disappearance from the site. She's also reluctantly agreed to allow 'Fritz the Dog' to use her chair in her absence - as long as he refrains from leaving so much cottony white fur on it. You'll notice that he has very hard time complying in full.

February 20th - Stoker does apologize for being absent for the past couple of days, but says it was not her fault. True, our service provider at home experienced a slight regression in performance, but all is well again. Stoker wishes to inform you that we will have no water for three days while the water company does a major repair in our area. This is going to affect Stoker's master (if you can say such about a cat) more than it will affect stoker. It should not keep her out of the Stoker house, however. The utilities there seem to defy local plumbing and electrical interruptions. Stoker does ask politely (if you can say such a thing about a cat) - oh dear, I've repeated myself - to do check out the Wildlife Alliance website where there will shortly be a contest to design a new logo for Wild Alliance... She's counting on you.

January 30th - It has warmed up slightly here in Cairo, so Stoker is out and around more. That's why you won't find her in her house so often now. But it will get cold again for short periods and she will use her house over the spring and summer, but with the 'heater' turned off of course. Stoker's orange colored heater burned out a few days ago and was replaced with a white one, which was not acceptable to her. You will very shortly see an orange one back in place.

In response to popular demand, Stoker will very soon have her own email address. She has also ordered that we provide her with a photo gallery. Both of those items are in the works. Also, Stoker wishes to inform everybody that her older brother (a real live person) works in special projects and fund raising for Wildlife Alliance and that you should visit their website and consider a donation.

Where is Stoker? - She spends much of her time at home now that it is winter and very chilly inside and out. If she is not in her house, then she is at her dish eating, getting a drink or piddling in her cat box. Sometimes she comes into the bedroom and snuggles up with our dog Fritz on the bed. When it's sunny, she will likely be found out on the balcony sunning herself or watching the birds in the tree that grows very tall next to our apartment.

Where did Stoker come from? - Stoker was discovered by our previous dog, Fluffy, who heard her crying from a petroleum data storage box that had just been moved from my office to Sandra's apartment. Stoker's family lived in the basement of my data store. Stoker, being a very curious kitten indeed, crawled into a sample box to have a look just before a worker picked it up and put it on a truck.

Why does she have such a funny name? - She was entirely gray and we assumed that only a male cat could get himself into such a perilous situation, so we called 'him' Lord Greystoke of Tarzan fame. Shortly after, all was revealed and we learned that he was a she. Anyway, the name stuck and even though she is quite a small cat, she is very very strong and feisty.

About Stoker's house - it's centrally heated (because we aren't) by a 100 watt orange spotlight which is located directly above Stoker's head. The floor features a specially crafted soft wool mat that she takes with her in her carry-on when she travels. Her house is made out of local materials by local craftsmen and will float in the unlikely event that our 4th story apartment floods.

Ok, so not much changes. But you never know when Stoker will decide to sit up straight, look the camera in the eye and proceed to bathe and groom herself. BTW, those small objects at the front of the basket are her playthings, which she keeps in much better order than our dog, Fritz, who has to be continually reminded to 'pick up his toys'.

Hi! I'm Fritz and I've just had my bath!
